Do you Spend Money and Pay Bills? Get Paid for it with a Rewards Credit Card...

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

A rewards credit card is simply a credit card that offers incentives for making any purchase. Credit card issuers offer business rewards, cash back, and travel rewards. It's a way consumers receive a payout and credit card issuers encourage spending. This is how you can put cash back in your pockets for doing nothing but using your credit card.

How Does it Work

You the consumer makes purchases on everyday items whether large or small and credit card companies reimburse you with incentives for every individual transaction. For example, let's say I spent $1,000 on groceries in the month of April on my discover unlimited cashback rewards credit card. Assuming a 5% cashback rate I will receive $50 for doing nothing but using my credit card. Doesn't seem like much but if $50 was missing from your paycheck you'll yell at someone. Business rewards are used for business owners and they will receive cashback by simply funding their businesses. Travel rewards are for those who travel often. Cashback is for any purchase.

Cashback Points

Reward credit cards pay a certain percentage on what you spend ranging from 1% to 5% (rare to find 5%) on every spending category and can redeem cash at any time. Seek professional advice before deciding on various financial products. The best card would be the cash back credit card from Discover. 0% of interest fees on all purchases for the first 14 months and 5% of rewards on all of your purchases.

29 year old Earns $5,000

Source: Keith Rosso

According to Business Insider, Keith Rosso and his wife bought a Tesla for $58,857 including taxes and fees. He bought the Tesla using his Chase rewards credit card and received $5,000 cash back. Imagine receiving $5,000 for what you initially planned on buying. Some dealerships don't allow a car purchase with a credit card so he used a third party to do so. Rosso's advice "if you use credit rewards responsibly, making a large purchase to earn tons of points is an easy win," he explains in Million Mile Secrets.

Here's a creative way

Allow family and friends to use your rewards card and get paid for their purchases but discuss with them on how to reimburse you. Another way, on a group trip buy everyone's plane ticket on one cashback card and have them send you the funds.

So do this...

Pay all of your monthly bills and every day purchases with a rewards credit card. Be responsible and pay the balance in full every month (you're spending it anyway). A simple transfer or automatic withdrawal would be fine. If you buy gas, clothes, make online purchases, pay bills, buy plane tickets, attend strip clubs, and swipe your card for anything else this is for you. Apply here for Discover or check your current bank for offers. I rather use the bank’s money than my personal funds for safety purposes.
