Living in a world with slaves in white collars, pumping gas, stuck in traffic, students flipping pages, waiting tables, the media having consumers chasing cars and clothes to impress people we don’t know nor even like. Soldiers fighting in a war with an unknown motive. Children influenced into debt and being taught by low waged and nonchalant instructors. Having an opportunity to live life everyday but spoiling it with activities that doesn’t hold value. Now here’s why you should have a better understanding in life.
Never let school get in the way of education
School teachers, parents, and the media influenced the idea of following rules, getting good grades, and attending the finest universities will provide happiness and security. Instead of schools testing on memorization skills, they should’ve taught young students about credit, basic mechanical repairs, the home buying process, bank accounts, writing a check, balancing a checkbook, common sense, and basic life skills that can’t be automated. How about picking up a book, trying new and challenging tasks, or go fail now so you can succeed later. Schools teach young children and older students on how to obey authority whether right or wrong. The idea of obtaining a college degree for one field of study is no longer significant in a world that continues to evolve.
Work Life
Unnaturally waking up to a screaming alarm is where it begins. Joining thousands on the highway lined up through steady traffic. Eventually arriving at work just to participate in the fakes smiles, petty gossip, infidelity relationships, and a toxic environment. Attending unnecessary meetings with coworkers who comfortably bite their tongues. Management taking you for granted and not valuing your time should be enough for you to walk away. Asking permission to spend quality time with your precious family and to put food in your stomach. Now you feel the thrill of escaping the building but it’s time to face rush hour. Slaving and paying for things you’re never around for and not realizing you’re part of a never ending bill cycle. Paying mortgage on a home where all you do is sleep to get ready for work and leave it vacant all day, driving in an expensive car you’re still paying for, just to drive you to and from work. What’s your plan after this? You’re life is worth more than a five or six digit salary. It’s crucial to understand the life you’re getting yourself into and keep in mind your children cannot inherit your job. At least they give you a weekend to rest but it feels like a thirty minute lunch break.
Flow of money
The best investment will always be yourself. They gave you a paycheck plus “commission” or a bonus to bribe you from freedom. The money that was slaved and spent hours in traffic for, just to be spent within seconds on one swipe or one click of a button. Spending at department malls and online shopping for shoes, clothes, and obligations such as mortgage and more bills. Desperate and gullible minds willingly waiting in long lines for something new. Buying luxurious brands to fill the void and wearing such items once so it can clutter in the closet. The things you own end up owning you. The idea of trading your time for money and spending enough just to repeat the cycle must come to an end. It’s time to appreciate mental and physical health. It’s time to create precious memories and promote emotional wellness. Death is guaranteed and tomorrow is not promised. It’s time to subvert.
